Apa Kata Laura Ingalls?

Suatu sore, aku hendak menyebrang Jalan Kaliurang sekitar Km 4,5. Kuperhatikan dari arah utara sepasukan motor datang dan melesat di depanku. Di belakang mereka melaju Bus TransJogja diikuti beberapa mobil yang hampir menyamai kecepatan si roda dua. Aku menunggu hingga gelombang kendaraan ini reda.


Selama beberapa detik pikiranku melayang.

Kira-kira, kalau ada mesin waktu dan Laura Ingalls bisa kubawa ke sini, ke tempatku berdiri pada detik ini juga, what would she think ya?

Mungkin dia kaget, mungkin dia tidak suka, mungkin dia kesal karena dunia sudah terlalu penuh, atau jangan-jangan dia malah excited? Hmm. Tebakanku Laura akan lebih banyak kesalnya ketimbang senangnya, sih. Menarik juga ya menerka-nerka apa yang orang abad 19-an pikirkan tentang dunia di abad 21. Sayang, sampai ayam beranak pun, terkaanku tak akan bisa dibuktikan. Tak akan ada yang namanya mesin waktu.

Ah ya sudahlah, aku harus fokus menyebrang dulu. Mumpung gelombang kendaraan selanjutnya masih beberapa meter di utara.

In one of his teachings, He shared the story of his father’s anger issue which made him had to go through a miserable and fearful childhood. He resented his father for that. Is There a Way to Make Everyone Loves You?

I guess there is no way we can please everyone, let alone ask everyone to love us. You can still try to make people like you, though. You can be: a good listener a helpful friend a supportive family member a loving partner, but there is no guarantee that you will be loved by the deeds you have done. People are unconsciously conditioned to like or dislike certain things or other people. They have their own perception of what's good or bad, which could be quite different from your perception of good and bad. So... In the end, just be unapologetically you . Stay true to who you are. Know that whenever someone judges you, they actually judge their perception of you. Which most possibly is not the real you.
